Adesuwa Agbaimoni

Nigerian social entrepreneur empowering African women through digital education

Adesuwa Agbaimoni (b.1990) is the founder of SheLeadsAfrica, a platform that has trained over 15,000 young women across 18 African nations in digital skills and leadership. Starting as a grassroots initiative in Lagos, her program now offers free courses in coding, fintech, and renewable energy through partnerships with Google Africa and the African Union. A graduate of University of Nigeria, she developed a mobile app 'SheCode' that provides bite-sized tech education in local languages. Her 2023 documentary 'Code of the Savannah' (Netflix) follows 12 participants starting tech ventures in rural communities. Recognized by Forbes Africa's '30 Under 30' list, she's also established the first all-female solar energy cooperative in Northern Nigeria. Her work addresses the UN's gender equality (SDG5) and affordable energy (SDG7) goals through tech-driven solutions. Recent partnerships with UN Women aim to expand her programs into East Africa.
