About MKDiff
A second pair of eyes for changed files
MKDiff is an independent collection of free browser tools for comparing text, code, structured data, documents, images and audio. It is built for the small review tasks between editing and sharing: finding a changed value, checking a revised paragraph, or comparing two audio exports.
Start with the file, then choose the method
Code diff highlights line changes and can ignore whitespace. JSON diff helps review structured values. Audio diff measures signal differences; it does not establish who is speaking. PDF diff compares extracted text, not every visual feature of a document.
How to check a result
Keep your original files. Try a small example with a known change before reviewing a large file. PDF extraction order, spreadsheet structure, audio timing and browser format support can affect the result. Use the original application or a specialist tool when the decision depends on formatting, formulas, identity, legal meaning or exact media fidelity.
Independent from desktop diff software
Our desktop comparison guides discuss products such as WinMerge, Araxis Merge and DiffMerge. MKDiff is not their publisher and is not affiliated with those products. Their names belong to their respective owners. Official download links in the guides take you to the publishers.
Free tools, supported by advertising
No account is required for the comparison tools. MKDiff uses Google AdSense to support the site and Google Analytics to understand usage. Tool results and advertisements serve different purposes; an advertisement is not an endorsement of a comparison result. See privacy and data handling for the distinction between local file processing and third-party website services.
Practical walkthroughs
The guide library explains comparison workflows with examples and limitations. The tool directory lists the available utilities.
