Your comparison inputs

The core text, code, JSON, document, image and audio comparison calculations run in your browser. MKDiff does not send those comparison inputs to its server as part of the comparison operation. Selecting a local file gives the page access to that file for processing. It does not make that file public. Our tool-usage events do not include pasted text, file names, file contents or comparison results.

This is not a promise that visiting the website makes no network requests. Page delivery, software libraries, analytics, advertising and some utilities use the network. If your work requires a strictly offline environment, use an offline application instead.

External utilities and libraries

The QR code generator uses api.qrserver.com: the text or URL you enter is sent to that service in the image request. Do not enter secrets there. Some document and media tools may download processing libraries from third-party CDNs. Those services receive normal network request information, such as your IP address and browser details.

Website logs

Hosting infrastructure records requests to operate and troubleshoot the site. Logs can include IP addresses, request times, URL paths, response codes, referrer information and browser identifiers. Avoid placing private information in page URLs or query strings. Access-log data is separate from the file contents used in browser comparisons.

Google Analytics

MKDiff uses Google Analytics (G-609KL8Z594) to measure website use. It can receive page visits, device and browser information, referrer information and usage events such as starting a comparison or loading an example. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites or use the Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and cookies

MKDiff integrates Google AdSense (publisher pub-3511633292401781). Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and information about visits to this and other sites to deliver and measure advertisements. The ads shown depend on availability, location, your settings and any consent choices presented by Google.

You can review personalization in Google My Ad Center, read Google’s advertising policy, and manage or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking scripts or cookies may affect ads, analytics or some site features. Where a consent message is shown, use it to manage the choices it offers.

Keeping sensitive material safe

Close the tab when finished on a shared device. Downloaded results remain wherever your browser saves them. Browser extensions and other software on your device may have their own access permissions. For regulated, confidential or otherwise sensitive files, assess those conditions before using any browser-based tool.
