Saudi Arabian tech entrepreneur breaking barriers in Middle Eastern innovation

Amani Alkhuzai (born 1980) is a trailblazing Saudi businesswoman who founded Babrra, the first female-focused fintech platform in the Gulf. Launching in 2015 during the Kingdom's Vision 2030 reforms, her company provides Sharia-compliant financial services to over 2 million users, challenging traditional banking norms. As a UN Women Global Champion, she developed the Startup Bootcamp accelerator focused on women's entrepreneurship in tech. Her 2018 TEDx talk 'Reimagining Finance for the 21st Century Woman' has been viewed 1.2M times. Alkhuzai's partnership with IBM on AI-driven microloans earned her the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader award in 2021. She currently advises the Saudi Stock Exchange on gender diversity policies.
