Dr. Amina Musse founded the Coral Guardians Somalia in 2021 to combat coral bleaching caused by climate change. Her team has replanted 12 million coral fragments across Somaliland's coast, restoring fisheries that support 80,000+ livelihoods. The innovative floating nurseries she developed increase coral survival rates to 89%. Musse's 2023 partnership with the Seychelles government expanded her methods to 15 other Indian Ocean nations.
