Nigerian tech entrepreneur revolutionizing rural healthcare through mobile diagnostics

Amina Al-Mansour (b. 1978) pioneered Nigeria's first portable medical diagnostic system, the MobiLab. Growing up in Kano's tech-savvy community, she developed low-cost medical devices while studying engineering at the University of Lagos. Her 2003 startup MobiLab Health Solutions now operates in 15 African countries, providing affordable HIV testing and malaria diagnostics. She created the HealthCart initiative that delivers care via modified tricycles to remote villages. Her work reduced maternal mortality rates by 40% in northern Nigeria. Al-Mansour's 2017 TED Talk "Bridging Africa's Health Divide" has over 2 million views. She recently partnered with the WHO to deploy AI-driven diagnostic tools across 50+ communities through the African Health Network.
