Anand Kumar
Indian social entrepreneur revolutionizing STEM education access for underprivileged youth
Anand Kumar is the visionary behind Super30, a free residential coaching program that has sent over 1,200 rural students to India's top engineering institutes since 2002. His model identifies talented students from impoverished backgrounds through rigorous selection processes, providing them with year-long intensive coaching. 85% of graduates secure scholarships to IITs, defying caste and economic barriers. In 2019 he launched Math Mania, an online platform offering free STEM courses in Hindi and regional languages, reaching 500,000+ learners. Kumar's advocacy led to the 2021 National Education Policy's inclusion of scholarship reforms. His TED Talk (link) has 4.2M views, and he received the Padma Shri (2014) and Ashok Innovators Fellowship. The documentary Super 30 inspired similar programs across 15 countries.
