Anasu Banerjee is a visionary engineer from West Bengal, India, whose company Drishti Health Solutions has deployed AI-driven telemedicine systems across 1,200+ rural villages since 2020. Born in 1987 to a farming family, her childhood experiences of inaccessible healthcare motivated her MIT PhD research in low-cost medical diagnostics.

Her flagship project, 'Eye of the Village', uses solar-powered kiosks equipped with AI diagnostic tools that connect patients to urban specialists via satellite. By 2023, this network had conducted over 2.1 million consultations, reducing maternal mortality rates in partner districts by 34%.

Banerjee's team developed the world's first AI algorithm for detecting diabetic retinopathy using basic smartphone cameras, a breakthrough published in Nature Medicine. Her 2022 TED Talk 'How AI is Bringing Doctors to Rural India' has been translated into 20 languages.
