Andrés Carrión

Colombian social entrepreneur bridging education gaps through AI tutors

Andrés Carrión is the founder of Eleducamos, a Colombian nonprofit using artificial intelligence to provide free tutoring for underprivileged students. His platform's AI tutors have assisted over 500,000 students since 2020, with 82% showing improved academic performance. The system adapts to each student's learning pace using gamified lessons in Spanish, English, and mathematics.

Carrión's innovation emerged from his own experience as a scholarship student at Harvard (2018-2022). He developed the SmartTutor algorithm that identifies knowledge gaps through 30-second diagnostic quizzes. The system now operates in 12 Latin American countries, with UNICEF support expanding access to 2 million more students by 2025.

In 2023, he launched Educar para Emprender, an entrepreneurship program teaching financial literacy and coding skills to teenagers. His work was featured in the World Economic Forum's 2023 Tech Pioneers Report and earned him a Forbes Under 30 nomination.
