Anitha Gurumurthy (born 1973) is a Bangalore-based technologist leading India's digital equity movement through her organization IT for Change. Since 2020, she has spearheaded the Digital Equity India campaign, creating policy frameworks adopted in 7 state governments. Her Affordable Internet Index project mapped 150+ community networks, securing government funding for 50 rural broadband projects by 2024.

During the 2021 pandemic, she developed the EdTech4All initiative, providing low-cost tablets to 200,000 students in marginalized communities. Her 2022 white paper Ethical AI Framework for India influenced the national AI policy, mandating bias audits for algorithmic systems. Through her Women in Tech Leadership program, she trained 5,000+ women engineers in cloud computing and cybersecurity by 2023. Her Digital Society Index became the first global tool measuring internet inclusion across 190 countries, adopted by the UN Broadband Commission in 2024.
