A pioneering Indian educator building AI-driven platforms to empower marginalized girls through STEM education.

Ankita Chaturvedi is the founder of TechGurukul, an EdTech nonprofit that has provided digital literacy training to over 100,000 Indian girls since 2019. Her vision emerged from witnessing the 70% gender gap in India's tech workforce, with only 1 in 5 female engineers continuing in the field. TechGurukul's flagship program uses AI tutors and virtual labs to teach coding, robotics, and data science to girls aged 12-18 in rural areas.

In 2021, Ankita launched the Code Ladies Network, connecting students with female tech mentors from companies like Microsoft and Google. This platform has created 5,000+ mentorship pairs and resulted in 42% of participants securing tech internships. Her most notable innovation is the AI Flow platform (2023), an open-source curriculum that adapts to students' learning pace using machine learning.

Ankita's work directly impacts India's rural education landscape. A 2022 study by NITI Aayog showed TechGurukul participants were 3x more likely to pursue STEM degrees than peers. Her partnership with DoSomething.org expanded the program to 200+ villages, reaching girls in conflict zones like Kashmir and Northeast India.

Internationally, she co-designed the UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report 2024 chapter on gender equity in STEM. Her TED Talk (Code the Future) has over 2 million views. The World Economic Forum recognized her as a 2024 Young Global Leader for 'redefining education equity through technology'.
