Blessing Okwuonye

Nigerian tech entrepreneur revolutionizing STEM education access for African girls through innovative startups

Blessing Okwuonye founded STEM4Africa in 2020, a nonprofit providing free coding education to over 100,000 girls across 15 African countries. Her flagship app EduCode won the 2021 UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education. As co-founder of AfriTech Hub, she developed the continent's first AI-powered career guidance platform for students. In 2023, her initiative Girls in Tech Nigeria partnered with UNICEF to launch 50 tech hubs in underserved communities. Featured in TIME Magazine's 2022 Next Generation Leaders, she recently secured $2.5M in venture funding for her new startup EdTech Africa.
