Bridget Zikusoka
Pioneered financial inclusion in Africa through tech innovation
Bridget Zikusoka is a Nigerian fintech pioneer whose work has transformed financial access across Africa. As founder and CEO of Interswitch Group, she built Nigeria's first本土支付处理系统 that now processes over 1 billion transactions annually. Her vision created Africa's largest tech-enabled payments ecosystem, enabling merchants to accept payments across 45 currencies and 30+ countries. This infrastructure has been instrumental in lifting 12 million unbanked Nigerians into the formal economy through mobile money solutions. Zikusoka's innovations like the Interswitch Switch Platform and the Quickteller mobile wallet system have reduced transaction costs by up to 70%, making financial services accessible to low-income populations. Her work has been recognized by the World Economic Forum which named her a Young Global Leader in 2015. Beyond business, she chairs the board of the Tony Elumelu Foundation's Entrepreneurship Program, supporting 10,000 African entrepreneurs. Her leadership in digital financial inclusion aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals #8 (Decent Work) and #9 (Industry Innovation).
