Bridgitte Ogundeji

Pioneering Nigerian agricultural technologist revolutionizing smallholder farming through digital tools

Bridgitte Ogundeji (b. 1975) is a visionary Nigerian entrepreneur and agricultural innovator whose work has transformed farming practices across West Africa. As founder of Agritech Connect, she developed mobile platforms that connect smallholder farmers directly with markets, providing real-time price data and climate-smart advisory services. Her systems now serve over 2 million farmers, increasing incomes by 40% while reducing post-harvest losses by 35%.

Ogundeji's breakthrough came in 2003 when she created the FarmerLink app, which uses satellite imagery and machine learning to predict crop yields and disease outbreaks. This innovation was highlighted in the UN's 2018 Sustainable Development Report. Her 2016 TED Talk "How Tech Can Feed Africa" has over 2 million views.

Her 2020 book 《Digital Roots: Building Africa's Agricultural Future》 details her vision for tech-driven food systems. Ogundeji was awarded the African Innovation Prize (2019) and serves on the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Agriculture.
