Camila Farani, born in 1989 in the Amazonian state of Pará, created Ponte Educação in 2015 to address Brazil’s education disparities. Growing up in a region with limited internet access, she recognized how digital divides exacerbate inequality. Her startup develops low-cost tablets preloaded with AI tutors and offline curricula, enabling students in remote areas to access quality education. By 2022, Ponte had distributed over 50,000 devices to schools in 12 Brazilian states.

Farani’s innovation extends beyond hardware: the platform uses machine learning to adapt content to individual learning styles, even in areas with no internet. Her team collaborates with UNESCO to integrate indigenous languages into educational materials, preserving cultural heritage while improving literacy. In 2020, she launched Educação em Movimento, a mobile classroom network using solar-powered buses to reach isolated communities.

Her work has earned partnerships with Google.org and the Brazilian Ministry of Education. Farani advocates for policy changes, including the 2021 Digital Education Plan, which prioritizes tech access for rural schools.
