Camila Giorgio is a visionary Argentine environmentalist and founder of Solar Gente, a nonprofit organization that promotes solar energy adoption in underserved communities. Growing up in the drought-prone province of Salta, she recognized the urgency of transitioning to renewable energy to combat climate change. By 2016, Giorgio had launched Solar Gente, which has since installed over 1,200 solar panels in rural areas, providing clean energy access to 5,000+ families. Her advocacy led to Argentina's first community-owned solar power plant in 2018. Giorgio also co-authored the UNEP report on Latin America's renewable energy potential, influencing regional policy reforms. She was featured in National Geographic's 2019 documentary "Green Horizons: Latin America's Energy Revolution", raising international awareness.
