Agriculture tech innovator empowering African farmers through digital solutions

Chioma Onyeakagha is a Nigerian agri-tech entrepreneur making significant differences in African agriculture through her company Bridgit PRO. Founded in 2016 and expanded significantly between 2020-2023, her platform connects smallholder farmers directly with buyers, reducing post-harvest losses by 40% while increasing incomes by an average of 300%. The platform now serves over 250,000 farmers across 6 African countries.

Her innovation addresses a critical issue where 30% of Africa's food production is lost post-harvest annually. By integrating blockchain technology for supply chain transparency and AI-driven market price analytics, Bridgit PRO has created a sustainable ecosystem that also provides microloans and insurance products. In 2022, she partnered with UNDP to scale this model to East Africa, impacting over 1 million livelihoods.
