Dorsa Sara is a Tunisian computer scientist and founder of MedLink Africa, an AI-driven telemedicine platform connecting rural patients with specialists across 15 African countries. Launched in 2020 during the pandemic, the platform uses natural language processing to translate medical consultations between 14 African languages, improving access for non-English speakers. By 2024, MedLink had conducted 850,000 remote consultations and trained 2,300 community health workers. Sara's team developed an AI diagnostic tool for tropical diseases achieving 92% accuracy, recognized by the WHO in its 2023 Innovation Challenge. Partnering with Microsoft's AI for Health initiative, the platform now includes predictive analytics for disease outbreaks.
