Ebele Mogo

A Nigerian entrepreneur who founded She Leads Africa to empower 1 million African women leaders by 2025

Ebele Mogo (born 1978) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and founder of She Leads Africa, a pan-African initiative dedicated to building leadership capacity among African women. Her organization has trained over 10,000 women leaders across 40+ countries, creating a network that challenges gender disparities in business and politics.

Mogo's career began in investment banking with Goldman Sachs, where she observed systemic barriers facing women in African economies. In 2015, she launched She Leads Africa with the vision of 'a continent where every African woman has the opportunity to lead'. The initiative provides mentorship, funding, and visibility for women through programs like the Leadership Academy and the annual Leadership Summit.

Her work has been recognized by the World Economic Forum, which named her a Young Global Leader in 2019. She Leads Africa's alumni include CEOs, tech innovators, and policymakers who are transforming industries across the continent. Mogo's TED Talk "The Power of Leadership in Africa" highlights the economic potential of investing in women's leadership.

Mogo's innovative approach combines technology with grassroots organizing: the She Leads Africa digital platform connects women entrepreneurs across Africa's diverse regions. Her 2022 book Lead with Purpose: Lessons from Africa's Women Leaders shares insights from successful female leaders. She has partnered with organizations like the African Development Bank to create funding pipelines for women-led startups, directly addressing the continent's $42 billion annual gender financing gap.
