Biography
Fabiola Archila (1890–1980) was Colombia's first female senator and a key figure in achieving women's suffrage. A lawyer and journalist, she organized nationwide campaigns that pressured lawmakers to pass the 1954 electoral reform. Her 1948 speech 《Women's Right to Vote》 became a landmark document in Latin American feminism.
Archila co-founded the Colombian Women's Association in 1928, which trained female leaders. As senator (1954–1966), she introduced laws improving women's labor rights. Her memoir 《Memorias de una senadora》 details her legislative battles.
