Fatima Alnour
Founder of Sudan's first female-led tech startup incubator, empowering 1,500+ women entrepreneurs since 2021.
Fatima Alnour pioneered gender equality in Sudan's tech sector through her Sudan Innovates initiative. Launched in 2021 amid political turmoil, her incubator has graduated 1,200 startups led by women, creating over 8,000 jobs in fintech, agri-tech and renewable energy sectors. Alnour's 'Code for Change' program provides free coding education to 500+ rural girls annually, with 70% entering tech careers.
Her partnership with Google's Grow with Google initiative expanded access to cloud computing resources. Notable alumni include:
- Noura Khalid: founder of AgriLink (a $2.3M-valued agri-tech platform)
- Amira Osman: developer of MediTrack health app used in 80+ Sudanese hospitals
Alnour's 2022 documentary Breaking Barriers inspired similar programs in Yemen and Libya. Her UN Women keynote Tech Without Borders led to $5 million in international grants. Recent innovations include blockchain-based supply chain solutions for Sudan's cotton industry.
