Fatou Maty Sy Ndiaye
Senegalese entrepreneur who founded a tech hub empowering women in sub-Saharan Africa's digital economy.
Fatou Maty Sy Ndiaye, born in 1975 in Dakar, pioneered digital inclusion for African women through her company Women in Tech Africa (founded 2002). Her initiative established coding schools in Senegal, Mali, and Burkina Faso, training over 5,000 women by 2020. Ndiaye also launched e-Women Market, an e-commerce platform connecting female artisans to global buyers. Her 2018 TED Talk "Code for Change" inspired UN Women's digital empowerment programs.
