Haidar El Ali transformed Morocco's energy landscape by founding Elyoos Group in 2007. His breakthrough came with developing microalgae biofuel technology that converts coastal wastewater into renewable energy. This innovation reduced fossil fuel dependency while addressing water pollution, earning him the 2018 African Energy Award. His facilities now supply 10% of Morocco's biodiesel needs and inspired similar projects in Tunisia and Senegal.
