Ghanaian tech entrepreneur building Africa's digital innovation ecosystem

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (born 1983) is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and founder of Mtech Africa, a digital innovation hub accelerating tech startups across 30 African countries. Launching in 2012, Mtech has supported over 2,000 startups through funding, mentorship, and infrastructure development. Nkrumah pioneered Ghana's first co-working space for tech entrepreneurs and co-founded GHlink, a platform connecting African startups with global investors. His Africa Tech Report annual publication provides critical insights into the continent's tech sector. Nkrumah's work with the UNEP led to the creation of the Africa Climate Tech Initiative, fostering green tech innovations. He serves on the board of the African Development Bank's Tech4Climate program and advises governments on digital policy. Nkrumah's TED Talk 'Africa's Tech Revolution' (2018) has over 2 million views. His book Code Africa (2021) outlines strategies for leveraging technology to solve continental challenges. Named Africa Business Leader's 2022 Innovator of the Year, Nkrumah's contributions are pivotal in positioning Africa as a global tech innovator.
