Lina Al-Mogbel
Saudi Arabian entrepreneur empowering women through tech startups and advocacy for gender equality
Lina Al-Mogbel is a trailblazing Saudi entrepreneur who founded SheCodes Arabia in 2021, a coding academy that has trained over 15,000 women across the Middle East. Her initiative addresses the region's tech gender gap, with 83% of graduates securing tech roles within six months of completion. The program combines online courses with in-person hackathons, including the landmark 2023 Riyadh Women's Tech Summit attended by 2,000 participants.
Al-Mogbel's advocacy extends to policy change: her 2022 report 《Breaking Barriers: Saudi Women in Tech》 influenced new regulations requiring tech companies to reserve 30% of leadership roles for women. She also co-founded the WomenStartups Network, a funding platform that has provided $12 million in seed capital to female-led ventures since 2020.
Her 2023 TED Talk "Coding Equality in the Kingdom" highlighted how tech education can drive social change. Al-Mogbel's recent focus includes creating Arabic-language AI tools to support women entrepreneurs, and her work was featured in the Netflix documentary 《Voices of the Gulf》.
