Lina Ejeilat

Jordanian environmental scientist leading renewable energy adoption in the Middle East

Dr. Lina Ejeilat is a pioneering environmental engineer transforming energy policies in the Middle East through her work at Green Innovate Solutions. As a professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology, she developed the Solar4All initiative (2020), which has deployed 15MW of solar capacity in underserved regions. Her research on hybrid renewable systems earned her the Arab Women in Energy Award in 2022.

In 2023, Dr. Ejeilat launched the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Network, connecting 40+ organizations across 12 countries to share clean energy technologies. She played a key role in Jordan's 2030 National Energy Strategy, increasing renewable targets from 10% to 30% by 2030. Her team's Smart Grid for Refugee Camps project powers over 50,000 Syrian refugees in Za'atari camp through solar microgrids.

Ejeilat's advocacy led to Jordan's first carbon tax legislation in 2024. She frequently collaborates with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and has authored 45+ peer-reviewed papers. Her 2025 book Renewables in Arid Regions has become a standard text in energy studies programs worldwide. She recently established the Women in Solar Leadership Program, mentoring 150+ young engineers annually.
