Lulwa AlMazrouei
Saudi Arabian entrepreneur empowering women through fashion and entrepreneurship.
Lulwa AlMazrouei (b. 1978) shattered gender norms in Saudi Arabia by founding Lulwa’s in 2001, a luxury fashion brand that created economic opportunities for women. Her designs blend traditional Saudi craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, featured in Vogue Arabia and Paris Fashion Week. Beyond fashion, she launched the Saudi Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, mentoring over 5,000 female entrepreneurs. Her advocacy led to landmark policies like the 2019 ban on gender-based employment restrictions. AlMazrouei’s TED Talk "The Hijab as a Canvas of Freedom" has been viewed over 2 million times. She was named Forbes Middle East's "Businesswoman of the Year" in 2018.
