Mahmoud Rahim is a visionary Egyptian entrepreneur whose work in renewable energy has transformed access to electricity in rural regions. In 2015, he founded Green Hands Egypt, an organization that deploys solar microgrids to villages lacking grid connection. His team has installed over 500 solar systems serving 25,000+ people by 2019, reducing reliance on diesel generators while creating local jobs. Rahim's innovative financing model combines crowdfunding with government subsidies, making projects financially sustainable. His 2017 TEDx talk 'Sunshine for All' became a blueprint for off-grid energy solutions, inspiring similar initiatives in Morocco and Kenya. The World Future Energy Summit awarded him the 2018 Global Leadership Prize for his work in sustainable development.
