Nadia Naeem

A pioneering tech entrepreneur who empowers African women through digital literacy and tech entrepreneurship programs.

Nadia Naeem founded Techliana in 2014 to bridge the gender gap in technology across Africa. Born in Kenya, she identified the critical need for women's access to tech education in regions like East Africa where only 24% of tech professionals are female (2019 UNESCO report). Her organization provides free coding bootcamps, mentorship networks, and seed funding to women innovators. By 2019, Techliana had trained over 5,000 women in countries including Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, leading to startups like Mamalette (a maternal health app) and Agritech Africa. Nadia's work was recognized by the UN Women in 2018 and the African Economic Conference. She also co-created the Africa Women in Tech Index, a data-driven tool measuring gender disparities in tech ecosystems across 15 countries.
