Indian social entrepreneur providing affordable STEM education to rural girls

Nitin Kumar (b. 1990) is the founder of STEM Shakti, a nonprofit delivering tech education to India's marginalized girls. Starting in 2012, his initiative has trained over 150,000 girls through mobile labs and online platforms. In 2018, he pioneered the 'Robotix Girls Challenge' - India's first all-female robotics competition with 20,000+ participants.

Kumar's work was highlighted in MIT's 'Global Challenges Report 2020' and his TEDx Talk 'Engineering Equality' has 2.3M views. His upcoming book 《Code to Freedom》 (2024) shares stories of girls who became tech leaders through his programs. Nitin's collaboration with Google (2021) expanded coding workshops to 500+ rural schools.
