Nontsikelelo Naomi Nkomo

South African advocate for women's digital empowerment

Nontsikelelo Naomi Nkomo (b. 1972) is a South African social entrepreneur who co-founded the SheConquers Foundation in 2008. This organization empowers marginalized women through technology training and entrepreneurship programs. Nkomo's work addresses the digital divide in Africa by providing IT skills to over 10,000 women annually. She also pioneered the 'Women in Tech' initiative that connects African female tech innovators with global markets. Her 2015 TEDx talk 'Why We Need to Close the Digital Gender Gap' has been viewed over 2 million times. Nkomo's efforts have been recognized by the World Economic Forum and African Union.
