Priyanka Srinivasan

Indian edtech pioneer whose platform transformed STEM education for rural students

Priyanka Srinivasan (b. 1989) is the founder of BrightMindz, an AI-driven education platform that has empowered over 500,000 Indian students since its 2021 launch. Growing up in a rural Tamil Nadu village without internet access, she recognized the digital divide early. After earning a computer science degree from MIT, she returned to India to develop adaptive learning algorithms specifically tailored for low-bandwidth environments.

Her platform's signature feature is the 'Offline Classroom' - a Raspberry Pi device preloaded with STEM content that syncs with cloud updates when connectivity is available. This innovation has been deployed in 1,200 schools across 23 states. In 2023, she partnered with UNESCO to create the Digital Education for All initiative, expanding access to 250,000 girls in underserved regions.

Srinivasan's 2022 book 'Code for Change: Building Tech That Matters' became a bestseller in educational technology. She was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia in 2024 and received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government in 2025. Her current project, 'Solar-Powered Learning Centers', aims to bring STEM education to 100,000 children in off-grid areas by 2026.
