Jordanian tech entrepreneur empowering women through digital skills training

Rana Yemen is the founder of 7ateen, a Jordan-based tech startup that has trained over 15,000 women in digital literacy and coding since its launch in 2021. Growing up in a refugee camp, she recognized the transformative potential of technology access. Her company's signature program "Code for Change" combines technical training with entrepreneurship workshops. In 2023, 7ateen partnered with Google's Digital Skills for Africa initiative to expand operations into Egypt and Sudan. Yemen's work has been featured in World Economic Forum reports and she was named one of Forbes Middle East's 30 Under 30 in 2022. Her TEDx talk "How Tech Can Bridge the Gender Gap" highlights innovative solutions for regional challenges. Yemen also advises the Jordanian government's National Digital Strategy and recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to create mobile tech labs for rural communities.
