Kuwaiti disabled athlete who redefined Arabian Gulf sports

After losing his legs in a 1990 Iraqi invasion explosion, Rashid Al Roumi (1968- ) became the first Gulf Arab wheelchair marathon champion. His 2004 Athens Paralympics participation broke cultural taboos about disability in the Middle East.
