Saudi Arabian tech pioneer and founder of Wajood, empowering women through digital innovation

Sarah Al Amoudi is a groundbreaking entrepreneur who co-founded Wajood in 2015, the first Saudi Arabian app connecting women with female service providers. This platform disrupted traditional gender norms in Saudi Arabia by creating safe economic opportunities for women in sectors like home services, beauty, and education. By 2019, the app had facilitated over 500,000 transactions and supported 10,000+ women entrepreneurs.

Al Amoudi also pioneered Saudi Women's Enterprise, a nonprofit providing digital literacy and business training to marginalized women. Her work aligns with Vision 2030 reforms while maintaining cultural sensitivity, earning recognition from World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2017.

Her TEDx talk "How Tech is Empowering Women in Saudi Arabia" has been viewed over 2 million times. Al Amoudi's innovations demonstrate how technology can drive social change while respecting cultural contexts in conservative societies.
