Indian social entrepreneur empowering rural girls through STEM education and menstrual health advocacy

Sneha Raman is an Indian social entrepreneur and founder of GirlScript Foundation, an organization breaking barriers for girls in science, technology, and education. Launched in 2020, her initiative has established over 200 community labs across India, providing hands-on STEM training to 80,000+ rural girls. Sneha pioneered the Mentorship-in-a-Box program, connecting students with female engineers and scientists via low-cost tablets preloaded with interactive learning modules.

In 2022, she launched Pad Project India, combining menstrual health education with sustainable hygiene product distribution. This initiative distributed over 1 million washable pads while training 10,000+ girls as health educators. Her Code for Change hackathons have produced solutions like AI-powered crop monitoring systems and water quality sensors, winning global innovation awards at MIT Solve and Google for India.

Sneha's work intersects education and women's health - her 2023 research paper in Global Health Action showed a 40% increase in school attendance among participants.
