Indian tech entrepreneur revolutionizing education access through AI-driven learning platforms

Swati Bhargava is the founder of EkStep Foundation, a social enterprise that has transformed education access in India through digital innovation. Her vision created the open-source Sunbird platform, which powers over 120 million learning sessions monthly across 250+ apps. This initiative addresses India's education inequities by providing free access to quality learning resources in multiple languages.

Bhargava pioneered the concept of 'Digital Learning Ecosystems' through her work with India's National Education Policy. Her development of the Learner Unique Identification (LUID) system ensures every student's progress is tracked digitally, enabling personalized education. This system has been adopted by 23 Indian states, reaching 300 million students.

As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Education Technology, she helped design the UNICEF India Digital Learning Program, which provided remote education to 50 million children during pandemic lockdowns. Her TEDx talk "Why We Need a New Education System for the Future" has become a foundational resource for edtech innovators globally.
