Pioneered Africa's largest women in tech community to bridge digital divide

Almaz Negash is an Ethiopian tech entrepreneur who founded CodeHub Africa in 2021. This initiative has trained over 10,000 women across 15 African countries in coding and digital skills, creating a network of female developers now responsible for 40% of the continent's tech startups. Her groundbreaking work addresses both gender inequality and the tech talent gap, with her CodeCaravan mobile labs reaching remote regions. In 2023 she launched Africa's first AI ethics framework specifically for women technologists. Recent projects include a partnership with UN Women to create digital literacy programs for refugee communities, impacting 200,000+ learners by Q3 2024. Her TEDx talk Coding the Future of Africa has been translated into 12 languages.
