Mukesh Kapila is a renowned physician and humanitarian who gained international prominence for his courageous reporting on the 2017 Rohingya genocide. Born in India and raised in the UK, he served as UN Secretary-General's Special Advisor on Genocide Prevention (2004-2008). In 2020, he launched Humanity First Initiative, a non-profit providing medical aid to conflict zones in Syria and Yemen. His groundbreaking 2022 BMJ study exposed systemic healthcare failures in Rohingya refugee camps, prompting global aid reforms. Kapila also chairs RightsFront, a watchdog organization monitoring human rights abuses in authoritarian regimes. His TEDx talk "The New Face of Humanitarian Crisis" has over 1.5 million views. In 2023, he authored "In the Shadow of Genocide", detailing his experiences in Sudan and Myanmar.
