Saudi tech entrepreneur revolutionizing fintech through women-led startups

Muna Al-Nadimi (born 1988) is the CEO of Sawari Ventures, the Middle East's first all-female managed venture capital firm. Starting with a $2 million seed fund in 2016, she grew the firm to manage $150 million by 2022, funding over 40 startups focused on fintech and AI. Her 2018 investment in Inkasaf - a blockchain-based loan platform - helped 50,000 Saudi SMEs secure funding without collateral.

Al-Nadimi's 2020 initiative 'Women in Blockchain' trained 1,200 female developers across GCC countries. Her controversial 2021 partnership with Apple to launch Sharia-compliant digital wallets challenged traditional banking norms. Named 'Top 30 Under 30' by Forbes Middle East in 2019, she co-authored the World Bank's 2022 report on 'FinTech Inclusion in Islamic Economies'. Her podcast "Disrupting the Desert" has influenced policy changes in UAE's financial regulations.
